Training Curriculum and Learning Objectives
After completing the four module, 16-hour training, participants will
be able to demonstrate a broad understanding of nonprofit board governance,
fiduciary responsibility, fundraising, board dynamics and the financial
management of non-profit organizations. Participants will be able to effectively
advocate for a social cause by describing in compelling terms how their
values and strengths as corporate leaders can make deep and lasting commitments
to nonprofits in the community. Current board members will be invited
to participate in the second module and may opt to attend the other three
modules as well. This will allow executive trainees to also learn first-hand
about the realities of nonprofit life.
The modules are fast-paced and highly participatory. Each participant
will receive a comprehensive Participant Guide which includes module content
plus articles and information about the nonprofit sector and several valuable
tools and resources on board leadership.
The program will be delivered by teams of facilitators and subject matter
experts with deep experience in nonprofit management, fiscal and legal
oversight, and leadership development of individuals and organizations.
