Special Events Internship
- Through June 2010 [Concord office and some virtual office]
The Jericho Road Project is looking for a dynamic, energetic, responsible
and organized individual to join the Development Team. The Special Event
Internship is an exciting position, working directly with the Marketing
and Development Director to assist in overseeing, managing, and coordinating
major fundraising (an upcoming gala) and volunteer recognition events.
Responsibilities:
Arrange event logistics, including, but not limited to: donations,
event communications, event packets and operations manuals for key staff
and volunteers
Assist with design and compiling mailings
Assist with accounting, routine paperwork, mailings, faxing, photocopying
and graphics requests
Assist with correspondence between vendors, sponsors and donors
Work directly with vendors to obtain bids and oversee their work
Qualifications:
Available a minimum of 10 hours a week and up to 15 - 20 hours
a week during the weeks preceding and after the gala
Bachelor's degree and 1 - 2 years work experience
Self starter, curious and hard working
Ability to effectively work on several projects simultaneously
Strong interpersonal skills
Some flexibility in schedule
Proven interest and experience in the nonprofit and social justice
sector
Attention to detail
Good writing skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently
Experience with Microsoft, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher
Dependability and flexibility
This volunteer position will allow for professional growth, networking,
and a behind the scenes look at the ins and outs of event management,
committee involvement, and development.
Internship - Development
Associate [Concord office and some virtual office]
The Jericho Road Project is looking for an individual with strong research,
writing and administrative skills to join the Development Team. The Development
Associate position fills a critical function for the Jericho Road Project:
Responsibilities:
Identify institutional prospects (such as foundations, corporations,
and federal agencies);
Drafting and package proposals;
Track grant applications and deadlines;
Assist in managing fundraising campaigns, such as the annual appeal;
Enter gift information in GiftsWorks and ensure thank yous are
sent out in a timely fashion;
Assist with donor communications mailings, data entry, routine
paperwork, mailings, faxing, photocopying and graphics requests;
Qualifications:
Available a minimum of 10 - 15 hours a week
Bachelor's degree and 1 - 2 years work experience
Good writing and research skills
Self starter, curious and hard working
Ability to effectively work on several projects simultaneously

Internship - Marketing and
Communication Associate [Concord office and some virtual office]
The Jericho Road Project is looking for a creative, energetic, and resourceful
person to join the Development Team. The Marketing and Communication Intern
position is an opportunity to promote an organization growing exponentially
in regional and national prominence.
Sample Responsibilities:
Initiate, develop, and distribute print and electronic communications
materials, literature, online resources, videos, programs and press releases
Create modest social networking presence
Create collaterals for internal and external communications (i.e.
presentations and pamphlets).
Assist in the general management of public relations, marketing,
and media
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 1 - 2 years work experience
Self starter, curious and hard working
Experience in developing, implementing, and managing marketing
communications plans and products.
Ability to effectively work on several projects simultaneously
Available a minimum of 10 - 15 hours a week
Strong interpersonal skills
