Jericho Road Dallas

Jericho Road Dallas matches volunteers with the needs of community-based nonprofit organizations.
Our vision is a just, compassionate, and united Dallas supported by dynamic volunteer-nonprofit partnerships.  Together, we can promote community development, strengthen social services, and enrich one another’s lives.
Established by the First Unitarian Church of Dallas, Jericho Road Dallas expands the work of Jericho Road Project, matching volunteers with the needs of community-based nonprofit organizations in the Dallas area.  In 2012, a strong leadership team was formed.  Interviews were held with more than 30 Dallas nonprofit organizations to assess whether they saw the need for this new nonprofit in our community.  All indicated this would be an important initiative for Dallas and many were interested in securing volunteer professional assistance to meet their organization’s needs.  In additional more than 100 individuals have expressed their interest as potential volunteers.
Having confirmed the need for Jericho Road services and anticipating a solid supply of professional talent, funds have been raised from individual donors. We received grants from the national UU Funding Panel and the North Texas Unitarian Universalist Congregations and support from the First Church Endowment and Memorial Gifts Fund.
In May, 2013, Senior Minister, Rev. Dr. Daniel Kanter completed a 2307 mile bicycle ride from Dallas to Concord, Massachusetts, raising well over $30,000 from donors across the country. To view the blog for his ride, visit
