The Jericho Road Project’s (JRP) mission is to bridge communities by matching the professional talents of volunteers with the needs of community-based nonprofit organizations and businesses to promote community development, strengthen social services, and enrich the lives of volunteers.

Jericho Road Lowell is a program of the JRP that was established in 2003 and matches volunteers’ skills from greater Concord, Massachusetts with the needs of the nonprofit community in nearby Lowell. The rapid growth of Jericho Road Lowell led to the establishment of our first partner site in 2005, Jericho Road Lawrence bridging the communities of North Andover and Lawrence. The success of both Jericho Road Lowell and Jericho Road Lawrence inspired us to replicate our model with other resource-sharing communities, specifically Worcester,MA and Hartford,CT in 2008.

JRP’s has 4 people on staff and a current budget of roughly $250,000 while our forecasted budget for FY 2009 is $450,000.

Our Board of Directors is strong and committed to deepening our development skills. We are seeking a Development Director to work with us to create and implement a fund development plan.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

· A minimum of three years’ practical experience with strategic development planning, major gift development, annual giving campaigns, special events management and grants management and writing.

· Greater Concord area resident with proven local development track record

· A gift for communicating in a clear and compelling fashion.

· An ease and enthusiasm for representing JRP in a variety of public forums

· An eagerness and ability to work collaboratively as part of a small, fast-growing organization.

· A personal/professional style that is diplomatic, persuasive and credible.

· Experience with marketing, public relations, publications and community relations.

· Must be very motivated, goal-oriented and able to multi-task.

· College degree or equivalent work-life experience required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary commensurate with experience and JRP’s budgetary limitations. Current position is best suited for a part time consultant. Position will hopefully grow quickly to a fulltime employee position with benefits.
