Jericho Road Ride - Routes
The crisp New England September morning sets the scene in historic
Concord as you begin the Jericho Road Ride. Soon you will be riding
through winding roads and beautiful farmlands and heading into Lowell,
Massachusetts, the heartland of the Merrimack Valley.
So let's go! Brush off that bike, lube the chain, check the brakes, pump
those tires and get pedaling! You will be glad you did when you complete
your route and enjoy the fun finish-line activities like face painting, clowning
and picnicking.
Some cycle information to get you started: Riders need to remember to
wear helmets, stay to the right, ride single file, and obey all
traffic regulations. Headphones can be dangerous and are not recommended!
When passing, alert those in front by calling out "on your left." If you
are not experienced riding a pace line, maintain at least a couple of
bike lengths between you and the bike in front. Mile markers listed below
are approximate. Look for the yellow "J" arrows on the ground and at the
turns!
You have the option of choosing one of four routes:
- 10-mile one-way ride to Carlisle
- 20-mile one-way ride to Lowell
- 40-mile one-way ride to Lowell
We hope that your family or friends will meet you at the finish line
and take advantage of the opportunity to explore all that Lowell has to
offer. If not, and you choose to do a one-way ride route, please be sure
to arrange for transportation back home!! If you can not, please notify
us on the registraton form and we'll arrange a ride for you.
